Eddie Murphy confirms birth of 10th child

Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Actor and comedian Eddie Murphy is a dad of 10.

The 57-year-old star issued a statement through his rep Monday after welcoming son Max Charles, his second child with fiancée Paige Butcher, on Nov. 30.

"Both mother and son are doing well," Murphy's rep said, according to People.

USA Today said Murphy chose the middle name Charles as a tribute to his late brother Charlie Murphy, who died of leukemia in April 2017.

Murphy and Butcher are also parents to 2-year-old daughter Izzy Oona. The couple announced in August they were expecting another child.

"They live a pretty low-key life. They are all about family," a source told People the same month.

"Paige loves being a mom and is very involved. She takes her daughter to the park and for play dates," the insider added.

Murphy is also parent to Eric, 29, with Paulette McNeely, Bria, 28, Miles, 25, Shayne, 23, Zola, 18, and Bella, 16, with Nicole Mitchell, Christian, 27, with Tamara Hood, and Angel, 11, with Mel B.
