Nov. 27 (UPI) -- Kendra Wilkinson is focusing on self-love in the wake of her divorce.
The 33-year-old television personality said in an Instagram post Monday that she's been "dating" herself following her split from her ex-husband, Hank Baskett.
"Been dating myself lately. Getting to know myself and even falling in love," Wilkinson captioned a smiling, sunlit selfie.
"Love and happiness is real without waiting on someone or something to do it for you. Been taking a lot of patience, empathy, and discipline.... well, except with the [expletive] I flipped off on the road the other day..." she jokingly added.
Wilkinson shared the same photo and a similar message on Twitter.
"Life is too beautiful and precious to wait for someone or something to 'make' you smile. Getting this dating myself thing down," she wrote.
Wilkinson filed for divorce from Baskett in April after nearly nine years of marriage. She told fans in October she had "signed her last divorce paper" after fighting to save her marriage "til the last second."
"I gave it all i got. Truly did," the star tweeted. "Im beyond proud of myself!"
Wilkinson and Baskett are parents to 8-year-old son Hank and 4-year-old daughter Alijah. Wilkinson spent the weekend supporting Hank at his hockey tournament.
"Good afternoon everyone. Had an amazing weekend watching my son play in his travel hockey Thanksgiving tournament," the star tweeted Monday. "So proud of him."
"He's really working hard and amazing team player. All around amazing good hearted lil man," she added.
