Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Country music star Carly Pearce is ready for the next phase of her career as she preps her second album and gets ready to perform during the 92nd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday.

Pearce, who made a big splash in 2017 with the release of her hit single "Every Little Thing" and accompanying debut album of the same name, will be featured on the Green Giant float during the parade where she will perform her new single, "Closer to You."

"What better way to debut your new single then on the Macy's Day Parade," Pearce told UPI. "It's been a true bucket list thing of mine since I was a little girl and I really cannot believe that I get to do this."

The singer said she is a huge fan of Zarbee's Naturals Honey Cough Soothers and will be relying on them to help keep her voice in pristine condition for the parade.

"I will definitely have those with me on hand to keep my voice nice and moist and feeling good for the performance," she said.

Pearce's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade appearance comes after a recent tour with Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt and an appearance on ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

"I'm excited," she said of the opportunity. "I'm up for the challenge."

"Closer to You," which will appear on her untitled second album, represents a new era in Pearce's life as she has entered into a relationship with fellow country music star Michael Ray.

"I am totally in love and I wanted to celebrate that with my fans and I wanted them to see that side of me," the 28-year-old said. "I think country music fans have wanted to see me find happiness and find love. This is exactly where I'm at and this is the most perfect song to go along with that feeling."

Pearce plans on shooting a music video for "Closer to You" in January. The Kentucky native and current Nashville resident said her second album will also include love songs, along with tracks that act as confessionals and are centered around the feeling of heartbreak. The musician also teased a collaborative song that features Ray.

"I think that I have such an amazing introduction with my first record that I just want to get a little deeper with the second one," Pearce said. "A lot has happened to me in the last year and a half and I feel like I'm ready for people to hear that and I think it's just going to be an evolution of what everybody knows to be me."

Pearce will be hitting the road again in January for a co-headlining tour with Russell Dickerson. The duo will be begin the trek on Jan. 24 at the House of Blues in Cleveland before wrapping things up on March 2 at Joe's on Weed in Chicago.

"Well, we called it 'The Way Back Tour' because we totally go way back," the recent ASCAP award-winner said of her friendship with Dickerson whom she started performing with eight years ago.

"We got record deals at the same time and we lost them at the same time," Pearce said. "We put out our first hits at the same time. So we always said that if we got the opportunity, we were going to team up."
