Nov. 17 (UPI) -- British singer Jessie J said she tries to ignore online criticism, but couldn't remain silent as some people compared her to her rumored boyfriend Channing Tatum's ex-wife, Jenna Dewan.

"I rarely, but sometimes see that my name is involved in stories online that I do not agree to," the recording artist said in an Instagram post.

"I often ignore them as 99 percent of the time it is something that doesn't serve any positivity to speak on. However there is a story I have seen be re written over and over again in the past few weeks that talks about myself being compared directly to another beautiful woman regarding our looks and people picking who they think is prettier. I am here to talk about the headline and the way the story has been written, I have continuously tried to find something positive from this article ... I am yet to."

Jessie J went on to say she supports all women and is "disappointed and embarrassed" to be dragged into an unsolicited competition with another female.

Tatum and Dewan split up in April after eight years of marriage. Dewan filed for divorce in October.

Tatum this week posted a photo of Jessie J performing in London, writing: "This woman just poured her heart out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Whoever was there got to witness something special. Wow."

They were first romantically linked in media reports last month.
