Jorge Drexler, Luis Miguel win big at 19th Latin Grammys

Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Jorge Drexler and Luis Miguel were the biggest winners Thursday night, as the stars of Latin music gathered in Las Vegas for the 19th Latin Grammys.

The night kicked off with an electrifying performance as Marc Anthony, Bad Bunny and Will Smith performed their song "Está Rico" together for the first time, kicking off the celebration of Latin Sound.

Drexler brought home the night's top honor, winning Record of the Year for his hit song "Telefonía," which also earned him song of the year and his album Salavidas de Hielo earned him the award for Best Singer-Songwriter Album.

Mon Laferte, Natalia Lafourcade and David Aguilar joined the Uruguayan singer/actor for a performance of "Telefonía" as they played a range of instruments from the guitar to the ukulele in a set meant to replicate an intimate bar scene.

Miguel claimed one of the night's top prizes, winning album of the year for his latest effort ¡México Por Siempre!, which also earned him Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album.

Spanish singer Rosalía ended the night with an impressive haul, winning Best Urban Fusion/Performance and Best Alternative Song for her track "Malamente."

She also had the opportunity to perform the song, which also netted her a nomination for Record of the Year, as she belted out the lyrics while joined on stage by six dancers performing a flamenco-style number.

J Balvin, who led the field with eight nominations coming in to the night, only managed to snag the prize for Best Urban Music Album for his album Vibras. He did, however, get the chance to perform a medley of tracks from the album as he was joined on stage by Mi Gente for "Mi Gente" before transitioning to "Ambiente" as he strutted across an iridescent backdrop.
