"A LOVELY DAY," Union captioned the photo. "We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days. Welcome to the party sweet girl!"

The photo depicts Union holding the baby skin-to-skin as the Miami Heat player, who also shared the photo on his own Instagram account, looks on.

The couple's baby comes a year after Union's book, We're Going to Need More Wine, detailed her struggles with fertility. She wrote that she'd had eight or nine miscarriages.

"For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant -- I've either been about to go into an [in vitro fertilization] cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle," she wrote.

Union told People magazine she was moved to become a mom after caring for Wade's sons from a previous marriage -- Zaire and Zion.

"I never wanted kids," she shared. "Then I became a stepmom, and there was no place I'd rather be than with them."

Union and Wade married in August 2014 in Miami after several years of dating. Wade
