Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Marvel has announced a second season of its Wolverine, scripted podcast series titled The Lost Trail.

Marvel made the announcement on Twitter Monday through their news program, Earth's Mightiest Show. Season 2, set to span 10 episodes, will be arriving in winter 2019 exclusively for podcast platform Stitcher.

The Lost Trail takes place in New Orleans following the events of Wolverine: The Long Night. Richard Armitage is returning to reprise his role as the X-Men hero who is set to encounter other Marvel characters in Season 2 such as Remy LeBeau, also known as Gambit, and Jason Wyngarde, also known as Mastermind.

Bill Heck (Gambit), Bill Irwin (Mastermind) and Blair Brown are joining Armitage for Season 2. Novelist Benjamin Percy, director Brendan Baker and sound designer Chloe Prasinos are also set to return.

"Fans reacted so powerfully and positively to season one that we really had no choice - we had to keep the story and the characters alive (well, most of them) for another season," Stitcher chief content officer Chris Bannon said in a statement.

"Fortunately, the outstanding creative team that made season one so memorable signed on right away! And I couldn't hope for a better cast of great voices, including Richard Armitage as Logan. Together, they're making a story Marvel fans will listen to over and over, I know," he continued.
