Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Julia Roberts says marrying her husband, Danny Moder, marked a "seismic shift" in her life.

The 51-year-old actress said in an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow on Thursday's episode of the Goop podcast that meeting and marrying Moder completely changed her life.

"I think that first kind of real 'seismic shift' was meeting Danny, getting married to Danny," Roberts told Paltrow. "That was the first, like, my life will never be the same in the most incredible, indescribable way."

"He truly, to this day, to this minute, is just my favorite human," she gushed. "I'm more interested in what he has to say or his point of view just more than anybody. Really, we're so lucky in that way. We just really, really like each other."

Roberts said her relationship with Moder has grown "deeper" and "more complex" in their 18 years together. She told Paltrow marrying the cinematographer was "the best decision" she's made in her life.

"We are so fortunate that there's some sort of inexplicable harmony in the way we do things," the star said. "We do things differently, we are different humans, but there's something together that just makes all the sense in the world."

Roberts and Moder tied the knot in July 2002 and are parents to three children, 13-year-old twins Phinnaeus and Hazel and 11-year-old son Henry. Roberts said in the November issue of Harper's Bazaar that she isn't always able to shield her kids from lingering divorce rumors.

"Sometimes we are in the grocery store and I won't even know something is out, but we'll see a tabloid and we'll all be standing there like, 'Oh, that's uncomfortable,'" the star said.

"It can still hurt my feelings, because I'm so proud of my marriage," she said. "We just celebrated being married for 16 years this Fourth of July, and there's so much happiness wrapped up in what we've found together."

Roberts stars in the new Amazon series Homecoming, which premieres Friday.
