June 24 (UPI) -- Meek Mill performed his new track, "Stay Woke" on Sunday night at the BET Awards while wearing a hoodie that pays remembrance to two rappers who were killed on the same day this month.

While performing "Stay Woke" with Miguel, Mill wore a hoodie with an image of XXXtentacion on the front and Jimmy Wopo on the back. Both men were shot to death in separate incidents on June 18 and Mill reportedly wore the hoodie as a statement against gun violence.

"And best use of his platform tonight goes to Meek Mill," tweeted Charlamagne tha God.

On June 18, Wopo, born Trayvon Smart, was gunned down in his Pittsburgh neighborhood. He was found in his car with another man who had also been shot. Wopo, 21, was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. The passenger was in stable condition.

That same day, XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was shot by two unidentified gunmen when he returned to his vehicle after shopping for a motorcycle in Deerfield Beach, Fla. He was 20.

Both murders are being investigated. No arrests have been made.
