May 31 (UPI) -- Sega has announced a new racing game featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends titled Team Sonic Racing set for release this winter.
A teaser trailer for the game was released Wednesday featuring Sonic in a blue sports car facing off against Shadow the Hedgehog.
Team Sonic Racing, announced for the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, will feature arcade-style, team-based races that are up to 12 players.
Teams of three will work together during races to assist each other and knock out their opponents as they reach for the finish line, Polygon reported.
The title will also feature Team Ultimate attacks that will help players defeat their opponents, up to 15 playable characters from the Sonic franchise, car customization options and online multiplayer with local co-op modes available.
Sega is set to announce more details about Team Sonic Racing at E3 2018 which runs from June 12 to 14.
