Sarah Hyland celebrates Wells Adams' birthday: 'I am the luckiest woman'

May 17 (UPI) -- Sarah Hyland was feeling grateful for boyfriend Wells Adams on his birthday.

The 27-year-old actress gushed about the former Bachelorette contestant in an Instagram post on his 34th birthday Wednesday.

Hyland shared a photo of herself and Adams laughing together in bed. The picture was taken just days after the couple said "I love you" to each other for the first time.

"This picture was taken three days after three words were exchanged. My smile has only grown, my heart has only deepened, and my world has only gotten better ever since," Hyland captioned the post.

"@wellsadams You are the most phenomenal man I have ever met and I am the luckiest woman in the world to have you by my side," she added. "Thank you for calling me baby even when I'm acting crazy. Happy Birthday Llama! Hey... #toplutoandback #myperson."

Hyland and Adams were first linked in October after celebrating Halloween together. Hyland said in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live! in January that Adams messaged her on Twitter after they exchanged flirty tweets.

"Have you seen those memes of 'Slide into the DMs'? He slid into my DMs," the star told host Jimmy Kimmel.

"I was single and I thought, this is really awesome. I was like, 'You're being very forward and it's sexy and not aggressive, but confident and sexy," she recalled. "[He was like], 'Next time I'm in L.A. I'm taking you out for drinks and tacos.'"

Hyland is known for playing Haley Dunphy on the ABC series Modern Family. Wells competed on The Bachelor Season 12, and later served as bartender on Bachelor in Paradise Season 4.
