May 17 (UPI) -- Andy Cohen says he gets why actress and comedian Kathy Griffin would hate him.

The 49-year-old television personality said on Wednesday's episode of The Howard Stern Show that he would understand if there's still bad blood between him and Griffin following their feud last year.

Cohen and Griffin clashed in 2017 after Cohen replaced Griffin on CNN's New Years Eve special. Griffin was fired after photos surfaced of her posing with a fake, bloody head that resembled President Donald Trump.

"I got the job on CNN, I'm on Bravo all these hours. I get it. So hate me," Cohen said of his conflict with Griffin. "I'll be that guy for you, if it makes you happy and gives you peace."

"I'm just not going to take it on," he told host Howard Stern. "'I'm at peace. I'm a lover, not a fighter."

Griffin had slammed Cohen, her former boss at Bravo, in a tweet in October after Cohen pretended not to know her in an interview.

"Even when it's on tape, there are doubters? He is NOT kidding w paps. Was my boss for 10 years. Treated me like a dog. Deeply misogynistic," she wrote.

Cohen was a Bravo executive during Griffin's show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List and produced several of her TV specials. He claimed not to know the actress while speaking with TMZ in October.
