May 15 (UPI) -- Jessica Simpson captured a cute photo Monday of her kids with their new puppy. The 37-year-old singer and designer shared a picture on Instagram of 6-year-old daughter Maxwell and 4-year-old son Ace with the adorable dog.

The snapshot shows Maxwell and Ace smiling for the camera as Maxwell embraces the puppy. Simpson, who shares her children with husband Eric Johnson, said they named the pooch Dixie.
"Welcome to our family Dixie!" she captioned the post, adding a dog emoji.
People reported Simpson lost her previous dog, Daisy, when a coyote carried it off, prior to Maxwell and Ace's births. At the time, the star posted about the incident and shared a missing dog sign on Twitter, according to TMZ.
"My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes. HORROR! We are searching. Hoping. Please help!" she wrote at the time.
Simpson and her family went to see Frozen on Broadway last week following Maxwell's sixth birthday. Simpson and Johnson threw their daughter an elaborate Greatest Showman-themed party May 6.
