"Well it's official... I'm definitely a grown-up!" Grimes wrote. "I am so thrilled to be able to finally share this crazy journey with you guys!"

"It wasn't totally planned but we decided to let the fates determine when the timing was right for us to hope on this ride of a lifetime and evidently, they thought the time was now and I couldn't agree more," she said. "We have so much love and laughter in our house that in a way, it'd feel selfish not to share it with another little human."

Grimes also shared the news in an interview with People.

"I can't believe our world is about to get a whole lot bigger and brighter, and can't wait to embark on this wild ride with my partner in crime," the star said.

"I feel like being a father was something Josh was put on this planet to do, and I'm thrilled that we're welcoming a daughter because I know how special the bond between my mum and I has always been," she added.

Grimes and Beech will celebrate their five-year wedding anniversary May 10. Grimes called Beech the man of her dreams in an Instagram post on the singer's birthday in December.

"Happy birthday to the man of my dreams. So grateful to spend forever sharing a life with this beautiful human being," she said.

Grimes is known for playing Annie Wilson on 90210, which had a five-season run on The CW. She presently stars as Det. Jack Cooper on the CTV series The Detail, which premiered in March.
