May 3 (UPI) -- Joshua Corbett, convicted of stalking Sandra Bullock in 2014, has died from a self-inflicted wound following a standoff with police, officials said.
Officers surrounded Corbett's home in La Crescenta, Calif., Wednesday to serve a warrant regarding a possible parole violation. Corbett barricaded himself inside his residence and threatened police, prompting a SWAT team's presence, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told People magazine.
Once police entered the home, they found Corbett dead from a self-inflicted wound. Police did not confirm how Corbett died but noted no gunshots were fired during the standoff, ABC 7 reported.
Corbett was arrested at Bullock's Los Angeles home in June 2014.
Police searched his home and found an arsenal of weapons. Corbett was charged with seven counts of machine gun possession, two counts of assault weapons possession, 10 counts of possession of a destructive device, stalking and burglary.
Bullock obtained a protective order against Corbett after the incident, requiring him to stay at least 200 yards away from the actress.
