March 7 (UPI) -- Courtney Stodden has filed for divorce from estranged husband Doug Hutchison.
The 23-year-old singer and television personality filed to end her nearly seven-year marriage to Hutchison, 57, on Tuesday, according to TMZ. It is unknown if Stodden or Hutchison will request spousal support.
Stodden confirmed the news in an Instagram post Tuesday evening.
"This day marks a new chapter in my life. It's a lot scary and a little surreal. But all change is. Praying having faith and hope in the destiny God has created for me. #picoftheday #newchapter #divorce #breathing," she captioned a selfie.
Stodden and Hutchison famously married in May 2011 when they were 16 and 50 years old, respectively. Stodden told People in February 2017 that she was "legally separated" from the The Green Mile actor.
"We have not signed divorce papers yet," she said. "I'm also trying to take things slow because I love him and it's really hard on him."
Stodden said in a post in December that she was battling depression following a miscarriage in July 2016 and her split from Hutchison. She explained to her followers, "I feel too much. I soak up too much energy from myself and others. I love too deeply."
