Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Princess Eugenie and fiancé Jack Brooksbank will tie the knot in October.

The 27-year-old British royal and her longtime love will say their vows Oct. 12 at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in Windsor, England.

Princess Eugenie's father, Prince Andrew, announced the news Thursday on his official Twitter account. The prince shares Princess Eugenie and 29-year-old Princess Beatrice with Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York.

"The marriage of Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenis to Mr Jack Brooksbank will take place on 12th October 2018. As previously announced, the wedding will take place at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle," the Duke of York wrote.

Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank got engaged in January after several years of dating. The princess said in an interview with The One Show with Matt Baker at the time that her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was among the first to know.

"Granny actually knew right at the beginning. She was one of the very few people we told," she said. "She's very happy, as was my grandfather."

Princess Eugenie's cousin Prince Harry will also wed at St. George's Chapel. The prince and American actress Meghan Markle will tie the knot May 19, and attended their first awards ceremony as a couple Thursday.
