Kate Middleton bundles up baby bump for London outing

Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Kate Middleton bundled up her baby bump during an official royal outing Wednesday in London.

The pregnant 36-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, who is expecting her third child with Prince William, wore a floral print dress and a pastel blue coat from the maternity brand Séraphine.

Middleton visited the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King's College London, where she was briefed on maternal mental health.

"The Duchess of Cambridge arrives at @KingIoPPN, one of Europe's largest centres for neuroscience excellence, to learn more about the challenges and issues surrounding maternal mental health," Kensington Palace captioned a video of Middleton's arrival.

People reported Middleton stopped by the institute's on-site laboratory to learn about its perinatal research before meeting with experts researching perinatal psychiatry.

"She was interested in the fact that we look at the whole range of issues including PTSD and self-harm," Professor Louise Howard said, according to E! News. "She was interested in understanding the whole breadth of the issues and how to make people more robust."

Middleton next visited the mother and baby unit at Bethlem Royal Hospital in London. Kensington Palace said the unit specializes in "the treatment of antenatal and postnatal mental health illnesses including postnatal depression and post-partum psychosis."

Middleton confirmed in September that she's expecting again with Prince William, and later announced the baby is due in April. The couple are already parents to 4-year-old Prince George and 2-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte.
