'Princess Diaries' star Heather Matarazzo engaged to girlfriend

Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Princess Diaries star Heather Matarazzo is engaged to be married.

The 35-year-old actress said in a tweet Monday that she proposed to her girlfriend, actress and comedian Heather Turman, on Jan. 11.

"Kept this to ourselves for a few days...... but on 1-11-18 I asked.....and she said yes. When you know you know," she wrote.

Matarazzo also posted a slideshow of photos and a quote from the Paulo Coelho novel The Alchemist on Instagram.

"'There is only that moment, and the incredible certainty that everything under the sun has been written by one hand only. It is the hand that evokes love, and creates a twin soul for every person in the world. Without such love, ones dreams would have no meaning,'" she wrote.

Matarazzo co-starred with Turman on the movie Stuck, which the comedian also wrote and produced. She confirmed her relationship with Turman in an Instagram post in June, calling the actress the love of her life.

"This is the [love] of my life. #happypride," the star wrote at the time.

Matarazzo is known for playing Lilly Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries and its sequel, which co-starred Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews. She has since appeared on The L Word and Grey's Anatomy.
