Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Gwyneth Paltrow is feeling "incredibly lucky" to be engaged.

The 45-year-old actress confirmed her engagement to producer Brad Falchuk in the new Sex & Love issue of Goop magazine. She also shared the news in a statement Monday to Good Morning America.

"We feel incredibly lucky to have come together at this juncture in our lives when our collective successes and failures can serve as building blocks for a healthy and happy relationship," the star said.

Paltrow, who covered the Goop issue with Falchuk, opened up in the cover story about finding love with the American Horror Story co-creator following her divorce. She split from Coldplay singer Chris Martin in 2014.

"Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be," the star told People.

"I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possibly by intimacy," she explained.

Paltrow and Falchuk were first linked in July 2014 following the actress' split from Martin. Us Weekly reported in November that Paltrow had quietly said "yes" to Falchuk after discussing marriage for over a year.

"They both knew it would happen, but it wasn't a big thing to them because they were both in long marriages before. There wasn't a rush," a source said at the time.

Paltrow will next appear as Pepper Potts in Avengers: Infinity War, which opens in theaters May 4.
