Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Jinger Duggar announced Wednesday that she is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Jeremy Vuolo. "The past fourteen months have been the best of our lives as we have had the wonderful privilege of beginning our journey through life together in marriage," the couple said in a statement on their official website.

"We both looked forward to the joys of marriage but neither one of us fully understood just how amazing the start of this journey would be. Truly, the Lord's mercies are new every morning!" they continued.
"Now, the journey has taken an exciting turn: we are expecting our first child! We are praising God for this beautiful gift and ask that you join us in praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy."
Duggar and Vuolo tied the knot in November 2016. The reality television star celebrated her first year of marriage in November calling it the "best year" of her life.
Duggar and her Baptist family rose to fame on TLC's 19 Kids & Counting before appearing on Jill & Jessa: Counting On which also features Vuolo.
TLC posted a video of Duggar, 23, and Vuolo, 30, announcing that they are expecting their first child.
"I think it's going to be a boy," Jinger says in the clip with Vuolo agreeing with her.
"I'm hoping that the little one will be as much like Jinger as possible," Vuolo said before Duggar added how she wants their baby to be like her husband due to him being "kind and gracious."
