Jan. 2 (UPI) -- WWE Superstar and current Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore apologized to fans on Instagram Monday for missing Raw.

Amore was scheduled to appear on the first Raw of 2018 to defend his title against Cedric Alexander. Fans were instead informed by Drew Gulak and Ariya Daivari that Muscles Marinara was not present due to the flu before the duo took on Alexander and Goldust in a Tag Tam Match.

"I apologize to the fans who won't get to see a #G tonight in #Miami... I did everything I could from Toronto to Miami...," Amore said on Instagram alongside videos of himself being hospitalized, bad mouthing Alexander and still arriving at Raw before he was sent back to the hospital.

"From negative weather, through customs, to opting out on Diddy's nye party in Miami, 10 hrs in a hospital, I did everything in my power to make sure I would be in that ring tonight to whoop Cedric Alexander's hind-end," he continued.

"Ultimately: it was outta my hands. And I got the best freakin hands. Say what you want about Enzo (cause with or with out my per-mish you will but one thing you can't say about ya boy: #SAWFT!) Cedric, 1 word to describe you tonight kiddo: #LUCKY!"
