Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Jordan Feldstein, longtime manager of American pop rock bank Maroon 5 and brother of actor Jonah Hill, died Friday at age 40.

A statement from Feldstein's family said he had shortness of breath and called 911. By the time emergency crews arrived he had gone into cardiac arrest and passed away shortly thereafter.

"His family asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time," the statement said. "In lieu of food and flowers, the family will announce a charity in the coming weeks where memorial donations can be made in Jordan's name."

Feldstein, founder and chief executive of Career Artist Management, had managed Maroon 5 since its inception 15 years ago. Under his direction Maroon 5 received three Grammy Awards and sold 20 million albums worldwide.

Other clients of Feldstein's company incude The B-52s, Elle King and Rick Springfield. He also negotiated Maroon 5's Adam Levine's coach role on NBC's The Voice.

Feldstein is survived by his sister, parents and two children.
