Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner's divorce finalized

Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Supergirl star Melissa Benoist and Blake Jenner's divorce is officially finalized, ending their four year marriage.

The marriage came to an end as of Wednesday, almost a year to the day when Benoist first filed for divorce in Dec. 2016 citing irreconcilable differences.

Benoist, 29, and Jenner, 25, finalized their divorce by reaching a property settlement agreement that they did not file previously with the the court, TMZ reported. Benoist also had her maiden name restored.

"The distance was an issue, things weren't working," a source said to Us Weekly about the former couple's split as Benoist films Supergirl in Vancouver, Canada. "It's amicable and mutual."

Benoist and Jenner met on the set of Glee where they co-starred as Marley Rose and Ryder Lynn from 2012 to 2014. They became engaged in July 2013 and tied the knot in March 2015.

Benoist began dating her Supergirl co-star Chris Wood in March.
