Sofia Richie goes brunette ahead of the holidays

Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Sofia Richie is switching up her look ahead of the holidays.

The 19-year-old model debuted brown hair Wednesday on Instagram Stories after spending several hours at a salon.

Richie, who normally sports blonde locks, posted a photo of herself with foils in her hair and a video of herself tapping her foot as she waited. She followed up by sharing a picture of her new, dark tresses.

"New color," the star wrote.

Richie's new look drew comparisons to boyfriend Scott Disick's ex-partner Kourtney Kardashian, who has naturally dark locks. Disick and Kardashian, who share three children, split in 2015 after nine years of dating.

"Channeling Kourtney Kardashian?" one person tweeted.

"Sofia Richie looks just like a Kardashian sister with her new hair colour," another account added.

Richie and Disick reportedly made their romance official in September. The couple traveled to Mexico the next month, with sources telling E! News they "seem very happy together" and are "very affectionate."

TMZ reported this month, however, that there are no plans for Richie to appear with Disick on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Insiders explained Richie has yet to spend time with Disick's kids, daughter Penelope and sons Mason and Reign.
