Jay-Z talks infidelity with Beyonce: 'Most people walk away'

Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Jay-Z said he was unfaithful to his wife Beyonce Wednesday in a new interview with T: The New York Times Style Magazine.

"We had a lot of conversations. You know. [I was] really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released," the rapper said about how he and Beyonce both released music that addressed the infidelity in the form of 4:44 and Lemonade.

"And, you know, at the end of the day we really have a healthy respect for one another's craft. I think she's amazing," he said.

"You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something 'cause most people can't see themselves. The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone's face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself," he said. "So, you know, most people don't want to do that. You don't want to look inside yourself. And so you walk away."

Jay-Z also said in the interview that going to therapy helped him to look inward and understand others better. "I think the most important thing I got is that everything is connected," he said. "Every emotion is connected and it comes from somewhere. And just being aware of it. Being aware of it in everyday life puts you at such a ... you're at such an advantage."

Jay-Z previously apologized to Beyonce on the title track of 4:44 where he mentioned the couple's children.

"I apologize often womanize / Took for my child to be born / See through a woman's eyes / Took for these natural twins to believe in miracles / Took me too long for this song / I don't deserve you," he rapped on the song. "And if my children knew/ I don't even know what I would do / If they ain't look at me the same / I would probably die with all the shame / 'You did what with who?' / What good is a menage a trois when you have a soulmate? / 'You risked that for Blue?'"

In addition to his martial problems, Jay-Z also made headlines for issues with longtime friend and music partner Kanye West.

"I [talked to] Kanye the other day, just to tell him, like, he's my brother. I love Kanye. I do. It's a complicated relationship with us," he said. "We gonna always be good."
