Nov. 21 (UPI) -- The U.K. was well-represented among the winners at the International Emmy Awards Monday night, especially for actors playing detectives. Kenneth Branagh picked up a best actor award for his portrayal of a Swedish detective in the BBC mystery series, Wallander. And Anna Friel took home best actress honors for her portrayal of a British detective in Marcella, produced by ITV and Netflix.

British comedian Steve Coogan took home the prize for his Alan Patridge's Scissored Isle, which won the best comedy award.
And the BBC won best documentary for Exodus: Our Journey to Europe, a three-part series that looks at the the migrant crisis in Europe.
Other winners from around the globe included, Norway's Mammon II for best drama; Turkey's Kara Sevda (Endless Love) for best telenovela nd France's Ne M'Abandonne Pas (Don't Leave Me) for best TV movie/miniseries.
The United States was represented by HBO Latino's Sr. Avila, which won for best non-English U.S. primetime program.
