Bill Cosby pays tribute to late TV dad Earle Hyman

Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Bill Cosby took to Twitter to mourn the weekend death of Earle Hyman, the actor who played his father on the sitcom The Cosby Show.

"Earle Hyman brought love, dignity and integrity to Grandpa Huxtable. Thank you, Earle, you will live forever," Cosby tweeted Sunday.

Former child star Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played Rudy on the show, posted a photo from the set with the message, "We have gained another Angel."

CNN said Hyman died Friday at the Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood, N.J. He was 91.

The North Carolina native played Russell Huxtable on The Cosby Show 1984-92. He earned a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his work in The Lady From Dubuque in 1980 and also voiced the character of Panthro/Redeye in the 1980s animated series ThunderCats.
