'Saturday Night Live' alum Bill Hader headed for divorce

Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Former Saturday Night Live star Bill Hader is headed for divorce.

The 39-year-old actor and comedian is separated from wife Maggie Carey and prepping to file for divorce after 11 years of marriage, according to TMZ.

Hader's rep confirmed the split to People. Sources said Hader and Carey, a director and producer known for the 2013 movie The To Do List, have been separated since July.

Hader and Carey married in 2006 and share three daughters, 8-year-old Hannah, 5-year-old Harper and 3-year-old Hayley. He previously shared marriage advice in a 2013 interview with People.

"Whatever your wife asks, say yes," he joked. "Just say yes and your life will be so much easier. If your wife asks you to drive at LAX at 2 a.m. to pick up a piece of luggage, do it!"

Hader is known for his work with Saturday Night Live, and has since appeared on The Mindy Project and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He will star on and executive produce the new HBO series Barry.
