Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Kim Kardashian says not inviting her surrogate to her baby shower was a "weird" decision to have to make. The 37-year-old reality star opened up on Thursday's episode of The Real about her relationship with the "amazing" woman who is carrying her third child with husband Kanye West.

"I did not [invite her]," Kardashian confessed. "I did introduce her to my family. I introduced her to my family earlier that day. It was a weird decision to have to make."
"Of course I would have wanted her to be there and be a part of it, but I hadn't really gone that far in explaining it to my kids yet," she explained. "I think I just have to explain it to my kids first and figure out how I'm going to explain it to them."
"I love her. I have the best relationship with my surrogate," the star qualified. "She is the perfect person to do this for my family. She's great. She's been amazing."
Kardashian confirmed in September that she was expecting via surrogate due to complications with her previous pregnancies. She was fêted by family and friends Nov. 11 at a glamorous, floral-filled baby shower.
"Okay guys, [this is] my baby shower for baby number three," the star said on Snapchat at the time. "It is a beautiful tea and cherry blossom forest."
Kardashian, who already shares 4-year-old daughter North and 23-month-old son Saint with West, confirmed on Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she's expecting another daughter. She dodged a question about sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner's rumored pregnancies the next day on The Late Late Show with James Corden by drinking a sardine smoothie.
