Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Chris Jericho has challenged Kenny Omega to match at Wrestle Kingdom 12, New Japan Pro-Wrestling's biggest event of the year.

Jericho issued the challenge Sunday at NJPW's Power Struggle pay-per-view event through a video where the wrestling icon called out Omega who is currently NJPW's United States Champion.

The pair, both from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, have been feuding for weeks on Twitter with Jericho upset with Omega's claim that he is the "best in the world."

Jericho, who last appeared at NJPW in 1998, has been missing in action from WWE since July when he made a brief appearance on Smackdown Live to take part in a triple threat match with Kevin Owens and AJ Styles.

Wrestle Kingdom 12, which takes place Jan. 4 at the Tokyo Dome, will also feature Kazuchika Okada defending his Heavyweight Championship against G1 Champion Tetsuya Naito.
