Selena Quintanilla honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Nov. 4 (UPI) -- The late Tejano music icon Selena Quintanilla was posthumously presented with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Quintanilla was a Texas-born singer-songwriter, who was shot and killed by a former employee in 1995. She was 23. Jennifer Lopez portrayed the artist in the 1997 movie, Selena.

People magazine reported hundreds of the singer's fans lined Hollywood Boulevard to attend the ceremony.

Actress Eva Longoria and actor Edward James Olmos -- along with the slain singer's family and fans -- were on hand to celebrate the unveiling of Quintanilla's star.
