Simon Cowell rushed to hospital after fall at home

Oct. 27 (UPI) -- British television personality Simon Cowell is recovering after taking a nasty fall at home.

The X-Factor U.K. judge was treated at a hospital Friday morning after falling down the stairs at his house in London, according to People.

Cowell was seen wearing a neck brace as he was loaded into an ambulance between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. local time, the star's rep confirmed. The Sun reported Cowell was getting something to drink when his tumble happened.

"It's been a scary morning," a source said. "It was very early and Simon was going down his stairs to get some hot milk because he couldn't sleep. He fainted and is thought to have fallen down the stairs."

Cowell gave photographers a thumbs up as he returned home Friday afternoon. The star is in stable condition but undergoing further tests, according to The Sun. He has yet to address the incident in the press or on social media.

Cowell serves as a judge on the reality competitions The X Factor U.K. and America's Got Talent. He was also a longtime judge on the series American Idol.
