Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Fuller House actor and General Hospital alum John Stamos‏ announced via Twitter he is engaged to marry his longtime girlfriend, The Vampire Diaries actress Caitlin McHugh.

"I asked...she said yes! ...And we lived happily ever after," Stamos tweeted, along with a diamond ring emoji and a drawing of a couple dancing in front of a castle.

People magazine said Stamos, 54, and McHugh, 31, have been dating for about two years.

He was previously married to actress Rebecca Romijin from 1998 to 2005.
