AFI to honor George Clooney with Life Achievement Award

Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Actor and filmmaker George Clooney is to receive the 46th American Film Institute Life Achievement Award.

The prize is scheduled to be presented to the 56-year-old Kentucky native -- who is also the married, father of infant twins -- at a gala tribute on June 7 in Los Angeles. The event will be televised on TNT at a later date.

Clooney's credits include the TV shows ER, The Facts of Life and Roseanne, the Ocean's 11 trilogy and films O, Brother, Where Art Thou? Michael Clayton, Up in the Air, The Descendants, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Good Night, and Good Luck.
