Amanda Bynes spotted during rare outing in Los Angeles

Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Former child star Amanda Bynes was spotted during a rare outing in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The 31-year-old actress stepped out in public for the first time in months Saturday at a Ralphs grocery store, according to Splash News.

Bynes was seen wearing a tan cardigan, white t-shirt, black jeans and glasses as she shopped with an unidentified woman. Page Six reported the star tried to shield her face after she was recognized by paparazzi.

The Nickelodeon alum last surfaced in June to give an interview to Hollyscoop. She said at the time that she's three years sober and ready to step back into the spotlight.

"I'm going to start acting again," the star announced. "I want to do TV. Maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I'm a fan of. Maybe another TV show where I'm the star of it in the future."

"Other than [school], I hike, I go spinning -- take spinning classes -- and I feed the homeless. And that's been really interesting and fun," she added.

Bynes is known for the Nickelodeon series All That and The Amanda Show, and last appeared in the 2010 movie Easy A with Emma Stone.
