Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Groom-to-be Ricky Martin plans to share his wedding to Jwan Yosef "with the world."

The 45-year-old American singer said in the October issue of Ocean Drive that his nuptials to the Swedish-Syrian painter will be a "great" and "public" event.

"It's going to be a great event," Martin told the magazine. "And people will be talking about it."

"We're a modern family, and I think people need to see, and I want to normalize the beauty of our family," he said. "That's why I'm making it public and I am going to share my wedding with the world."

Martin said he and Yosef plan to wed during a three-day celebration in the spring. He and the painter have "started planning" their nuptials, but have yet to decide on a ceremony location.

"We still don't know where we will do it, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico or in Sweden, where my fiancé is from, or in Spain, where I am also from," the star shared. "Right now we're just dealing with the invitations and everything."

"We also have to deal with the fact that most of my fiancé's family is from Syria. So maybe they won't be able to come into this country," he added. "So we might consider doing it in Stockholm or Spain. We don't know yet."

Martin, who is dad to 9-year-old twins Valentino and Matteo, got engaged to Yosef in November. He said in an interview with E! News in June that he wants his wedding to the painter to be "a big event" in his place of birth, Puerto Rico.

"I want something massive," the singer said. "I for sure want to get married in Puerto Rico. That is something that has to happen."

"Everybody is talking about the wedding but nobody is talking about the planning of the wedding because it's so difficult," he confessed. "I didn't know it was so complicated to put together an event like the one we want."
