The 42-year-old retired MLB star explained in an interview Wednesday with Entertainment Tonight that he and Lopez have been inseparable because they "love spending time together."

"I think we're just best friends," the former New York Yankees player said. "We just love spending time together. Our kids love each other, so it's a good thing."

Rodriguez accompanied Lopez to a celebratory event for her show World of Dance on Tuesday. The 48-year-old singer and actress supported Rodriguez the next day at the Season 9 premiere of Shark Tank.

"It's what it's all about," the retired MLB star said. "It's a good time for us and it's great to be supportive and loving towards each other."

Lopez had shared similar sentiments while speaking to Extra at the World of Dance celebration.

"You know, you make time when it's important. And we absolutely do," the actress said. "It's a juggling act."

"We're so proud of each other and so supportive of each other. Genuinely. We want to be there for one another and that's what helps it work," she added.

Rodriguez, who shares daughters Natasha and Ella with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, and Lopez, who is parent to twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, confirmed their relationship in March. Rodriguez announced Wednesday that he and Lopez have business ventures in the works.

"We got some things we're working on that we're not really ready to announced," he told ET. "I think her fans [and] my fans are going to be very excited to get involved."
