Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Harrison Ford says it was "strange" to learn Carrie Fisher had detailed their alleged affair.

The 75-year-old actor responded in the October issue of GQ to his late Star Wars co-star going public about their reported romance in her memoir, The Princess Diarist.

"It was strange. For me," he said in the interview. "I don't know. You know, with Carrie's untimely passing, I don't really feel that it's a subject that I want to discuss."

Ford did say he had "a degree" of advance warning before Fisher's book was published in November. Fisher claimed in the memoir that she had an affair with Ford on the Star Wars set when she was 19 years old and the actor was 33 and married.

"It was so intense," the actress, who died at age 60 in December, told People prior to the book's release.

"It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend," she added, referencing her and Ford's iconic roles as Princess Leia and Han Solo.

Ford co-starred with Fisher in four Star Wars movies, including the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which featured Han's death. He told GQ he's done with franchise for the foreseeable future.

"I'm finished with Star Wars if Star Wars is finished with me," the actor said. "I can't imagine it [wouldn't be]. But it is science fiction."

"I'd rather not [return]," he said. "You know, at this point I'd rather do something else. Just because it's more interesting to do something new."
