Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has finalized her divorce from husband Romain Dauriac.

The 32-year-old American star and 35-year-old French journalist settled their divorce and custody dispute over 3-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy this week, according to Page Six.

Johansson and Dauriac submitted a sealed settlement to the Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday, meaning the details of their agreement will remain private. The pair issued a joint statement to Us Weekly on Wednesday.

"We remain close friends and coparents with a shared commitment to raising our daughter in a loving and compassionate environment," the former couple said.

Johansson filed for divorce in March after splitting from Dauriac in 2016 after two years of marriage. She confessed in the March/April issue of Playboy that she considers monogamy an unnatural practice.

"I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it's a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing," the star said. "I don't think it's natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it's work. It's a lot of work."

"The fact that it is such work for so many people -- for everyone -- the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing," she elaborated. "It's something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in but I think it definitely goes against some instinct to look beyond."

Johansson will next star in Avengers: Infinity War, which opens in May 2018. The movie co-stars Josh Brolin, Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Chris Pratt.
