Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Gwyneth Paltrow recently stripped down for the first-ever cover of Goop magazine.
The 44-year-old actress went topless and covered her body in mud for the publication's inaugural issue, which will be available online and at newsstands next week.
"Goop magazine is here. Millions of thanks to the incredible teams @goop and @condenast," she captioned a photo of the cover on Instagram.
The issue, which is titled "Earth to Gwyneth," explores Paltrow's passion for health and wellness. She said late dad Bruce Paltrow's battle with terminal cancer was a turning point in her approach to health, according to E! News.
"I was sort of pushing this can of processed protein food directly into his stomach," the star recalled. "And I remember thinking, 'Really? Is this really healing? There's a bunch of chemicals in this.' It was the first time I contemplated [the idea] that you could have autonomy over your own health."
Paltrow confessed she initially had a lot to learn, recounting how she wanted "a beer and cigarette" after her first cleanse.
"I remember standing in a hippie health-food store in Greenwich Village," she said. "I remember the next day [after I finished the cleanse] I was like, 'Oh, wow, I just did this cleanse, and I feel so much better. I can have a beer and a cigarette now, right?'"
Paltrow originally founded Goop as a lifestyle newsletter in 2008. The brand has since launched a website with online shopping, as well as fashion collaborations, pop-up shops and a wellness summit.
