"The Office of the Marshal of the Realm is delighted to announce that HRH Princess Sofia gave birth to a healthy child at 11:24 a.m. on August 31 at Danderyd Hospital," the post reads. "Both mother and child are doing well."

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip have yet to announce their newborn's name and sex. The couple, who married in June 2015, are already parents to 18-month-old son Prince Alexander.

"It's amazing," Princess Sofia said of welcoming her son in an interview with Svenskdam in July 2016. "He is very sweet and well-behaved."

"Being a mother is amazing," she added. "It changes your whole life."

Prince Carl Philip is the only son of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia. His younger sister, Princess Madeleine, announced this week that she's pregnant and expecting her third child with husband Chris O'Neill.

"Chris and I are thrilled to announce that I am expecting. We look forward to four becoming five!" the 35-year-old Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland wrote Sunday on Facebook.
