Kevin Hart, Chris Young donate to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Kevin Hart and Chris Young have announced their plans to donate money to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts as they ask others to help pledge their support as well.

"I think we've participated in a lot of challenges on the internet, some meaningful, come meaningless, but we've all done them," Hart said in a video posted onto Instagram Sunday where he says he will donate $25,000 to the Red Cross.

The comedian also challenges his celebrity friends including Dwayne Johnson, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Harvey and Justin Timberlake to "follow his lead" and do the same.

"At this point I'm going to start a real challenge," he continues about his Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge.

Young, meanwhile, states in a video on Twitter that he is donating $100,000 to the Red Cross as part of a GoFundMe page he helped set up for those hit by Hurricane Harvey.

"In times like these, you turn to your friends to help those in need and that's exactly what I'm doing," the country star says in the clip. The GoFundMe campaign has so far raised an addiotnal $45,000.

Rapper Drake on Monday shared a photo of Texas on Instagram where said he would also be helping with relief efforts alongside his collaborator, Future the Prince.

"We are currently overseas in London and all I can think about is how devastated I am as I look at images of the damage Hurricane Harvey has caused," Drake wrote.

"I am praying for the safety of all those affected. Houston has truly been a home to me over the last 8 years. Myself and @futuretheprince are working with local relief groups to aid and assist the people of Texas in anyway we can and in the most immediate way possible," he continued.

"I encourage everyone to do what they can to assist the people of Texas knowing whatever effort you can make to help will go a long way."

Outside of donations, Randy Quaid stated on Twitter that he would retweet anyone's address and location who needed help.

"Was born in Harris county TX, know it!If you need help, in danger, will RT your address and location," he wrote.
