Aug. 21 (UPI) -- WWE's second biggest event of the year, SummerSlam rocked the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Sunday as Superstars from both Raw and Smackdown competed in premiere bouts. The biggest party of the summer featured a colossal main event between Raw heavyweights, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe in a Fatal 4-Way Match for Lesnar's Universal Championship.

The battle of the behemoths featured Strowman attempting to take Lesnar out of the equation by putting The Beast through two tables and using a third to bury him under. The violent onslaught left Lesnar's advocate Paul Heyman in shock and WWE medical personnel took the defending champion away on a stretcher.
Down to three, Strowman was unable to secure a victory and was busy breaking up a Coquina Clutch Joe administered to Reigns. Shockingly, Lesnar then stumbled back into the ring shortly afterwards and re-entered the match.
After a series of finishing maneuvers and close calls, Reigns seemed poised to take home the gold when he struck Lesnar with three Superman punches before setting up for a Spear. As the Big Dog charged at Lesnar, the champion picked up Reigns for a thundering F-5 for the victory, retaining his Universal Championship once again.
On the SmackDown side, Jinder Mahal was able to once again escape defeat and hold onto his WWE Championship following interference from his henchmen, The Singh Brothers. The Modern-Day Maharaja defended his title against Shinsuke Nakamura in a bout that The Artist mostly dominated from start to finish.
As Nakamura readied himself to deliver a Kinshasa for a victory, The Singh Brothers entered the ring where they were met with a number of kicks and elbows. The distraction was enough for Mahal to sneak behind Nakamura, however, to deliver the Khallas for the three count.
The third big match of the night featured a Shield reunion as Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose reunited once again to take on Cesaro and Sheamus for the Raw Tag Team Championship. Despite Cesaro and Sheamus doing their best to take out Ambrose and then later Rollins from the match, The Shield brothers never gave up and battled their way to victory.
The ending moments involved Rollins connecting with a ripcord knee onto Sheamus before Ambrose planted him with a Dirty Deeds for the three count. Rollins and Ambrose celebrated in the ring by sharing a Shield fist bump together.
In Raw and Smackdown's women's divisions, both titles changed hands as Sasha Banks defeated Alexa Bliss to become the new Raw Women's Champion after The Boss administered a Bank Statement while Natalya defeated Naomi to become the new Smackdown Women's Champion after using a Sharpshooter.
SummerSlam also featured Jon Cena defeating Baron Corbin in the opening match; Big Cass defeating Big Show despite Enzo Amore being able to escape a shark cage that was suspended above the ring; Randy Orton defeating Rusev in 10 seconds with a surprise RKO; Finn Balor in his Demon form defeating Bray Wyatt; and AJ Styles retaining his United States Championship against Kevin Owens while Shane McMahon was a special guest referee.
The SummerSlam pre-show featured The Miz and his Miztourage defeating The Hardy Boyz with Jason Jordan; Neville winning back his Cruiserweight Championship from Akira Tozawa; and The Usos defeating The New Day to become the new Smackdown Tag Team Champions.
