Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Developer Ubisoft's latest trailer for its next entry in the Assassin's Creed series, titled Origins, explores the game's new setting of ancient Egypt.
The cinematic video, released Sunday during Microsoft's Xbox Gamescom press conference, features sandy deserts, pharaohs, pyramids and the mummification of bodies as the long-running, action-stealth series heads to ancient Egypt for the first time.
The clip also features new main protagonist Bayek as he takes down a group of soldiers using a bow and arrow.
"Journey into Ancient Egypt, the most mysterious place in history, during a crucial period that will shape the world. Discover the secrets behind the Great Pyramids, forgotten myths, the last pharaohs, and - engraved in long-lost hieroglyphics - the origin story of the Assassin's Brotherhood," reads the synopsis.
Assassin Creed: Origins, is set to arrive for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 27.
Recently, it was announced that an Assassin's Creed animated series is now in development from Adi Shankar, a producer on Netflix's Castlevania.
