Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Taylor Swift's social media accounts went dark Friday, sparking speculation that the pop star will be announcing a new album soon.

Swift's profile photo is missing from her Twitter page, profile and Facebook and all the photos have been deleted from her Instagram account, though it is still active.

The change in Swift's online presence has many believing the singer is preparing to announce a new album. Swift's last project, 1989, was released in October 2014. Since then she has appeared alongside Zayn on "I Don't Wanna Live Forever " from the soundtrack for Fifty Shades Darker.

Earlier this week, Swift won a legal fight with former DJ David Mueller. Swift says he groped her during a photo-op in 2013. Mueller sued her after he was fired over the incident. Swift counter-sued. A judge dismissed Mueller's suit and a federal jury sided with Swift in her case. Mueller was ordered to pay her a symbolic $1 settlement.
