John Cena stars in Season 2 of WWE's 'Southpaw Regional Wrestling'

Aug. 18 (UPI) -- WWE has released online the second season of their retro comedy series Southpaw Regional Wrestling starring John Cena, Daniel Bryan and other WWE Superstars.

The company uploaded six new episodes of SouthPaw on YouTube and their website Friday just days before their signature August event, SummerSlam.

First debuting in March, SouthPaw Regional Wrestling follows the antics of a 1980s professional wrestling organization filled with colorful characters portrayed by a number of WWE Superstars wearing colorful outfits and wigs.

The first episode of Season 2 features Cena returning as commentator Lance Catamaran who is flanked by his partner Chett Chetterfield played by WWE's Fandango. The new season deals with the buildup to event Showdown at the Swamp which takes place at Municipal Stadium.

Bryan appears in the clip as a French wrestling personality Rene Beret who discusses his love for America. Other WWE stars who appear throughout the second season include Tyler Breeze, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, Seth Rollins, The Miz, The New Day and many more.

"A second Southpaw Regional Wrestling VHS tape has been discovered! This tape contains the promotion's build to their Showdown at the Swamp event in August 1986," reads the synopsis.

SummerSlam, featuring Superstars from both Raw and Smackdown takes place Sunday.
