Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Lady Gaga will appear for a deposition as part of music producer Dr. Luke's defamation lawsuit against Kesha.

Gaga will "appear for a deposition pursuant to [Dr. Luke's] subpoena in this action during the month of September 2017," reads court documents obtained by E! News.

Dr. Luke, real name Lukasz Gottwald, sued Kesha for defamation after New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich rejected the singer's amended lawsuit against the hitmaker in March.

The highly-publicized legal battle between Kesha and Dr. Luke began in Oct. 2014 when the pop star attempted to get free from her contract under Dr. Luke after she said he raped and abused her. Gaga showed support for Kesha in Feb. 2016 on social media by posting a photo of the pair with the caption "Free Kesha."

The "Born This Way" singer was orginally set to attend a hearing on Aug. 22 after Dr. Luke accused Gaga of being unwilling to sit for a deposition since March, Page Six reported.

Dr. Luke subpoenaed Gaga recently as part of the defamation lawsuit as he believes the pop star has "relevant information regarding, among other things, false statements about Dr. Luke made to her by Kesha," including a series of text messages.

Gaga has now agreed to hand over un-redacted copies of the text messages after originally sending them in redacted form.

"Lady Gaga has always been prepared to testify so long as reasonable limitations were established. That has now been accomplished," her lawyer Orin Snyder said.

Previously, a representative for Gaga called out Dr. Luke stating, "As Lady Gaga's legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process. Dr. Luke's team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga's role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests."
