Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Netflix has renewed its crime dream Ozark for a second season, after the first season debuted in July.

Ozark's second season will feature 10 episodes, and will continue to follow Jason Bateman as financial planner Marty and his wife Wendy Byrde, portrayed by Laura Linney, as they relocate from the suburbs of Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks after crossing a drug lord in a money laundering scheme.

"Rather than the familiar skyscrapers and trading floors, Ozark explores capitalism, family dynamics, and survival through the eyes of (anything but) ordinary Americans," Netflix said.

The first season launched on July 21 and also featured 10 episodes, many directed by Bateman and written by producer/writer Chris Mundy.

Bateman is also the show's executive producer along with creators Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams.
