Jennifer Lopez celebrates Alex Rodriguez's birthday: 'The best is yet to come'

July 27 (UPI) -- Jennifer Lopez couldn't help but gush about Alex Rodriguez on his 42nd birthday.

The "Ni Tú Ni Yo" singer, who turned 48 on Monday, dedicated a sweet post to Rodriguez on his birthday Thursday after ringing in the occasion with the former MLB player at a joint party over the weekend.

"Happy birthday to the man who makes my heart skip a beat every time he walks in the room..." Lopez captioned a photo on Instagram of her beau.

"Wishing you the best year ever my love...so excited for everything God has in store for you... #thebestisyettocome #itsyourday #mimacho #amormio #happybirthday #LEO #13," she added.

Lopez and Rodriguez celebrated their birthdays with friends at a lavish bash Saturday in Miami. The couple returned to New York this week, and enjoyed a sunny bike ride together Wednesday.

"There's no place like home... #NYC #bikerides #summertimevibes," Lopez captioned a picture of herself and Rodriguez on their bikes.

Lopez and Rodriguez were first linked in March, and confirmed their relationship the same month. The retired New York Yankees star penned a sweet message to Lopez while celebrating her birthday this week.

"Wishing a happy birthday to this amazing human being who lights up my world every day. Te amo muneca!! #HBD #Leo," he wrote Monday.

Lopez shares twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, while Rodriguez is dad to daughters Natasha and Ella with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. Lopez told Access Hollywood in June that she and Rodriguez are "blessed" to have "great lives" and "great children."
